So I’m just drawing here in the living room, and mom asks me if I’m actually the one doing those movie still paintings. I answer in the affirmative and ask her why. 

She then goes “Huh….you’re actually kind of good. You weren’t very good before.”

Awesome vote of confidence and support.

At least my sister was like “Nice back handed compliment, mom.”

Which then my mom continues talking about how she never understood why people liked my work before since it was never very good. Even when I was a kid?

I’m not really upset, since I am used to the non-supportiveness. It just makes me exasperated when she wonders why I’m not as supportive of her and her endeavors.
